Welcome to Lake Washington
An active, lakeside community with love for the arts
Lake Washington is the second largest lake in the state of Washington and the largest in King County. Three floating bridges cross the lake; one takes I-90 from Mount Baker neighborhood to Mercer Island, a second bridge continues I-90 from Mercer Island to Bellevue, and State Route 520 crosses the third bridge from Montlake to Medina and is the longest floating bridge in the world. Fishing, boating, and many other outdoor activities are readily available at Lake Washington.
Ideally situated between Seattle and Bellevue and gifted with a gorgeous lake, it is a small wonder that Lake Washington waterfront housing is so popular. While the community began with wool milling and shipbuilding, now it is made unique by a love of the arts, entertainment, outdoor recreation, and wine tasting.

The Glasshouse, a 40-foot-tall glass building crossing 4,500 square feet, is the center of the exhibit, showcasing Chihuly’s largest suspended glass sculpture at 100 feet long. The exhibit also includes a garden where a carefully selected collection of flowers, trees, and other plants complement Chihuly’s glass artwork. Guests can enjoy videos of Chihuly’s process, including interviews, installations, and glassblowing at the theater.
